lets do it romania

Hello, I'm Vlad and I'd like to introduce you to one of the other Romanian projects I'm involved in. Some of you might have already heard of "Let's Do It, Romania!"- the biggest national involvement project! If you're already a keen supporter, or you've only just heard about it, for those of you who would like to know more about it and about what is going to happen on the 25th of September, here is some useful information!

What is Let's Do It?“

Let’s Do It, Romania!” is the biggest volunteering project in Romania. It involves cleaning the whole country of the waste from outside urban areas, in a single day. The National Cleaning Day is the 25th of September.

The Project was initiated in Estonia in 2008, carried out by Latvia and Lithuania (2008,2009 and 2010), Portugal and Slovenia (2010). Here you can watch a very interesting video about the Cleaning in Estonia.

We can break a record! Romania is the biggest European country registered for organizing this project in 2010. On the list of the socially responsible countries to apply the idea are also Italy, Serbia, Ukraine, Brazil and Finland.

Why ''Let's Do It, Romania!''?
- because we're all tired of standing around watching without acting;
- because if we, at least for a day, work together we can make visible changes to Romania;
- because waste disposal is a real problem in Romania;
- because Romanians must understand the importance of a environmentaly responsible behaviour and the necessity of applying it in their everyday life;

Can I change this situation?
OF COURSE! This is everybody's project, of everyone who believes good things can happen in Romania! Each person's contribution is of the same imporance and there are various ways of getting involved.
